Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a scheduling coordinator to manage inpatient and ambulatory surgical procedures within operating rooms. You will align with block schedules, prepare daily schedules, and coordinate with surgeons, admissions, and staff to ensure key requirements are met.

The role requires healthcare admin experience, 2+ years in surgical scheduling, and strong communication with empathy in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare admin experience.
• 2 years direct surgical scheduling experience for external candidates.
• Demonstrates an excellent knowledge of hospital systems, operations, and managed care.
• Analytical skills to resolve problems that require basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of inpatient and ambulatory surgical procedures for operating rooms.
• Prepare complete daily surgical schedules with special equipment and radiology/non-surgical use.
• Communicate with surgeons and staff to obtain information and confirm schedules.
