Job summary
Blue Origin in California is seeking a Senior Manufacturing PCBA Design & SMT Fab DFX Engineer to own the end-to-end manufacturing design integration of TeraWave PCBA modules — bridging high-speed PCB layout, SMT fabrication processes, and volume production readiness. This role is foundational for hardware operating at orbital scale.
You'll drive DFX (DFM/DFT/ DFA/DFR), optimize stackups and SMT processes, lead first-article and manufacturing readiness reviews, and coordinate with supply chain,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years in PCBA design, SMT manufacturing, or hardware design in volume production.
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and mixed-signal power distribution.
- Hands-on SMT fabrication: stencil design, reflow, AOI/X-ray inspection, line bring-up.
- Experience with space-grade electronics and DFx principles in production.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-layer PCBA design for high-speed switch line cards.
- Own SMT fabrication process development and panelization.
- Drive first-article inspection, process validation, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
- Apply DFX across DFM/DFT/ DFA/DFR for scalable production.
- Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and manufacturing partners to optimize yield.
