Job summary

ITC Federal, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to support the Drug Enforcement Administration in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on design, architecture, and administration of Oracle databases in a federal security environment, with emphasis on multitenant architecture and data security.

Candidates should have 10+ years of Oracle experience, deep 19c+ expertise, and the ability to design scalable data structures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant Oracle DBA experience.
• Deep expertise with Oracle 19c or newer.
• Experience designing and managing Oracle PDBs in CDBs.
• Strong data modeling knowledge with ER/Studio or Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
• Proficient in Oracle Internals, execution plans, indexing, and OEM Cloud Control.
• Experience in data integration and metadata management.
• Active Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support Special Operations initiatives through advanced database design, relational and dimensional data modeling, and Linux-based Oracle DB development.
• Architecture and manage isolated data workloads using Oracle Pluggable Databases (PDBs) within Container Databases (CDBs).
• Assist in diagnosing and tuning complex data analytical queries, optimizing execution plans.
• Collaborate with data architects on logical data models and translate to physical structures.
• Assist with metadata management and resolution of semantic conflicts from integration of disparate data sources.
• Assist with database decommissioning and online archive data store partitioning.
• Maintain the security posture of the Linux Oracle platform per federal DEA controls and patch management.

JOB TITLE: Senior Oracle DBA

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

POSITION INFORMATION: Full time

LOCATION: Chantilly, VA - Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 days remote after initial 30 days fully onsite)

POSITION TIMING: Active Secret clearance required; must also be able to obtain and maintain a DEA Public Trust clearance (processing time: 4-6 weeks, must be completed prior to start)

ITC Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to support the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In this role, you will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for the design, architecture, and administration of Oracle database management systems. You will build efficient, scalable data structures that meet the demanding requirements of a federal law enforcement environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data modeling, multitenant isolation, access path optimization, and data security, with the ability to evaluate and recommend both cloud and on-premise DBMS solutions. You will also define database administration standards and contribute to technical strategy through presentations and guidance on advanced DBMS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Application & Initiative Support: Support Special Operations initiatives through advanced database design, relational and dimensional data modeling, and Linux-based Oracle database development.


• Multitenant Architecture: Architecture and manage isolated data workloads using Oracle Pluggable Databases (PDBs) within Container Databases (CDBs).


• Performance Tuning: Assist in diagnosing and tuning complex data analytical queries, optimizing execution plans.


• Data Architecture: Collaborate with data architects on logical data models and seamlessly translate them into optimal physical database structures designed to perform efficiently under high-load profiles.


• Data Integration: Assist with metadata management and the resolution of semantic conflicts resulting from the integration of disparate data sources.


• Lifecycle Management: Assist with database decommissioning efforts and the architecture, design, and partitioning of the online archive data store.


• Security & Compliance: Maintain the security posture of the Linux Oracle platform in accordance with federal DEA control sets, access controls, and automated patch management.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of relevant work experience as an Oracle DBA, Engineer, Developer, or Developer DBA.


• Oracle Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with modern Oracle versions, specifically focusing on Oracle 19c or newer architecture and features.


• Multitenancy: Proven experience designing and managing applications within Oracle Pluggable Databases (PDBs).


• Data Modeling: Extensive experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling using state-of-the-art tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler).


• Performance Optimization: Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Internals, execution plans, indexing strategies, and automated performance tuning via Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.


• Integration: Demonstrated experience in data integration, metadata management, and analytical data stores.


• Minimum of an active Secret security clearance, required

DESIRED:

• Development Skills: Experience with large, complex SQL query development, advanced PL/SQL (stored procedures, packages, triggers), and modern Oracle development IDEs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
