Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking an Application Database Developer to provide superior engineering and production support for Global Oracle Database environments. You will partner with application owners to understand needs and ensure platform stability and performance.

Responsibilities include 24x7 production support, database administration, Change Advisory Board participation, off-hours support, and automation using scripting and tools. Strong leadership and communication are required.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
7+ years IT experience as Oracle Database Administrator.
Experience in leading DBA and support roles across multiple databases.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, OEM, and Linux scripting.
Experience monitoring and tuning database performance.
Experience on Linux and Windows OS.
Experience in Manufacturing or regulated environments with ITAR/PCI/PHI/HIPAA/NIST/SOX requirements.

Responsibilities

Production support for database environments with 24x7 staff.
Database installation, configuration, management, patching, and upgrades.
Participate in Change Advisory Board and provide governance on changes.
Provide after-hours support for critical production issues.
Automate infrastructure components using scripting and automation tools.
Perform database refreshes, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Lead efforts to improve the database portfolio and stay current with multi-cloud trends.
Educate and mentor on-shore and off-shore support teams.
