Job summary

Prodapt Solutions Private Limited in Irving, TX seeks an experienced DBA Engineer to ensure performance, integrity, and security of production databases across Oracle, SQL and PostgreSQL. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance, backups, monitoring, and incident response in a 24/7 environment.

You will implement automation using Bash/Python, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure/GCP, and perform on-call duties to keep services running smoothly

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Oracle/SQL database management in testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multi‑platform environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or AI Engineering, or related field.
• Upgrades of Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL database migrations and updates and application of patches.
• Backup and restores, export and import of data to and from Oracle, SQL. Runtime configuration of Oracle, SQL.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss.
• Monitoring at server, database, collection level, using monitoring tools related to Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of SQL architecture and internals.
• Proficiency in SQL and database/data design and architectural principles.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation.
• Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users.
• Implements multiple projects along with production support.
• Will perform on-call support for critical needs.
• Experience with database monitoring tools.
• Implement performance tuning strategies to ensure optimal database response times.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and manage the incident lifecycle in 24/7 production support.
• Perform daily triage of incidents and monitor database health.
• Configure threshold value alerting, triggers, and remediation.
• Monitor network utilization and system health checks.
• Maintain and update reports and correspondence related to the work.
• Prioritize incidents according to urgency and impact on business.
• Escalate incidents at risk of breaching SLAs to the responsible teams.
• Design, build, manage and maintain CI/CD tools to accelerate software development and deployment.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Provision and configure servers, databases, and other infrastructure components.
• Implement IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Implement monitoring and logging systems to track application performance.
• Develop alerting mechanisms to notify teams of critical issues.
• Ticket management efficiencies i.e. response time, resolution time, SLAs.
