Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking Surgical Technologist professionals to assist the surgical team. The role involves preparing sterile equipment, passing instruments, sponges and sutures during operations, and supporting turnover and instrument logistics in a fast-paced OR environment.

Senior and Intermediate levels are available, with requirements spanning from a high school diploma to accredited Surgical Technologist training and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Two years' experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• Ambulatory surgery experience is preferred.
• Ability to scrub Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and other surgical areas, is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory.
• Sterilization of instruments.
• Preparation and selection of equipment for procedures.
• Transfer of patients as needed.
• Turnover of rooms.
• Turnover and transfer of instruments to CSR/Decontamination.
• Putting equipment back in place.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program
