Job summary

Kaiser Permanente's Manteca Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team before, during, and after procedures. You will coordinate instruments and equipment, maintain sterility, and assist surgeons and nurses as needed.

The role requires at least two years of acute OR experience, a high school diploma or GED, and Basic Life Support. Expect evening shifts with teamwork in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Surgical Technicians certified by the Association of Operating Room Technicians, affiliated with the Association of Operating Room Nurses shall qualify as Senior Surgical Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the work of other Surgical Technicians.
• Coordinate equipment configuration for ease of use in the OR.
• Assist with patient positioning, scrubbing and PPE as needed.
• Hand instruments to surgeon and assist during procedures.
• Maintain sterility, track counts, and assist with room turnover.
• Contribute to patient safety and quality initiatives.
• Assemble case carts and prepare supplies and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
• Supervisory: motivate and direct staff without hiring/firing authority.
