The role requires a technical background, 10+ years in project leadership, and the ability to develop rigorous business cases, manage risk, and protect IP while partnering with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences; optics background preferred; Master's a plus.
• 10+ years' experience in project management/leadership.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams (commercial, technical, operations).
• Strong relationships with internal and external customers.
• Sound decisions blending analytical thinking with practical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute an overall program plan with budget and resources to scale at each stage and meet objectives.
• Monitor changes in customer requirements and adjust strategy, scope, risk, and value proposition.
• Set program messages and manage information flow with leadership, customers, and team members.
• Develop and lead a compelling business case (P&L and balance sheet implications) and value proposition.
• Identify IP protection and ensure manufacturing implementation of requirements.
• Utilize Corning's innovation process to direct program activities.
• Travel requirements: up to 50% travel, potentially international.
