Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to lead quality initiatives for optical components and precision parts used in aerospace and defense.

The role focuses on developing robust QA processes, solving complex quality issues, and ensuring real-time manufacturing support onsite. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements across AS9100/ISO 9001 environments.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within aerospace/defense/precision manufacturing.
• Experience with quality tools: FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause & Corrective Action, and Statistical Process Control.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and documentation processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead quality engineering efforts for optical component production, assembly, and integration.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes to meet engineering requirements and standards.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions using structured tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design engineering, and supply chain on quality issues.
• Review and improve inspection criteria, sampling plans, and control documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to inspectors and technicians on inspection methods.
• Analyze nonconformance data to identify trends and improvements.
• Author and maintain QMS documentation and participate in audits.
