Job summary

Quartus Engineering is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer in the Aerospace sector based in San Diego with a hybrid work schedule. You will lead assembly, optical alignment, and testing of electro-optical payloads while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance verification and environmental testing.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in integrating high-performance optical systems for aerospace, along with AI&T documentation experience and CAD/CAE skills (SolidWorks

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in integration and testing of high performance optical systems for aerospace applications.
• Development of AI&T documentation such as work instructions, travelers, alignment procedures and test plans.
• Mechanical, electrical and optical GSE development.
• CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop AI&T procedures for electro-optical payloads and sub-systems for spaceborne, airborne and ground systems.
• Select COTS tools and test equipment; develop custom tooling to support AI&T activity.
• Own challenging technical problems during assembly and test.
• Develop risk reduction tests to support risk mitigation activity.
• Lead technical execution on AI&T programs including task delegation, technical oversight, design reviews, and customer communication.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
