Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
• 5+ years in development or lab/manufacturing with mechanical assembly and testing.
• 5 years engaging stakeholders through written presentations and direct interaction.
• Experience documenting work with controlled processes and traceability.
• 2+ years of product design or manufacturing using CAD (ProE/CREO).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, global teams, engineers, and suppliers to design, build and deliver prototypes for optical connectivity solutions.
• Develop prototype designs, build plans, BOMs, work instructions, process docs, acceptance criteria, schedules, and capture results and risks.
• Improve fiber optic component processes, including connector and cable assembly prototype builds and process-development trials.
• Coordinate materials, tooling, fabrication, equipment, and supplier activities to meet prototype timelines.
• Design and improve fixtures, tooling, equipment, and train technicians on new processes to ensure quality and safety.
• Analyze prototype build, inspection, test, yield, and defects data; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
