Corning is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II for Optical Communications New Product Development in Keller, TX. The role focuses on developing fiber optic hardware from concept through manufacturing, with hands-on Creo Parametric, FEA, and Windchill responsibilities.

Collaboration across manufacturing, prototyping, and customers helps define requirements and ensure cost-effective, manufacturable designs.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• 2+ years of product development or mechanical design experience.
• 1+ year with CAD software, preferably Creo Parametric.
• 1+ year designing sheet metal and plastic molded parts.
• Familiarity with Windchill or similar PLM systems.
• Understanding of DFM and tolerances.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop fiber optic hardware components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Use CAD (Creo) to create parts and assemblies involving sheet metal and molded parts.
• Perform FEA and other analyses to support design and validation.
• Contribute to system-level product development and document in Windchill.
• Support rapid prototyping and design reviews with data-driven improvements.
