Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Keller, TX, is seeking a Sr. Product Development Engineer to drive mechanical design for new optical communications products. You will own design concepts, develop injection molded and sheet metal parts, and collaborate with global teams.

The role requires 4–7 years in product design or NPI, a BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), and proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks/NX, with travel up to 10%. You will mentor peers and contribute to patents and technical reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
4-7 years of industry experience in product design or NPI
Experience designing injection molded and/or sheet metal parts desirable
Product development and/or NPI experience required
Willingness to travel up to 10% (Domestic and International)

Responsibilities

Conceptualize mechanical design solutions for new product development with strong technical evaluation
Create mechanical designs of plastic injection molded and sheet metal components to meet functional requirements
Provide high-level and detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for concept presentations, analyses, and patents
Lead projects from a technical standpoint and mentor junior engineers
Collaborate with global teams to translate designs into prototyped and manufacturable products
