Job summary

EssilorLuxottica seeks a Senior Product Development Engineer to own the industrialization of new products, drive technical decisions, and ensure production readiness. You will analyze capabilities, lead cross-functional teams, and implement continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 5+ years in engineering or project management, and expertise in injection-molded components, CAD tools, and Lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, product development or project management.
• Experience with injection-m molded component design and processing.
• Knowledge of metal component manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 6-Sigma, JIT, Set-up Reduction).
• Experience with FMEA, DFM and problem-solving methodologies.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks/ProE/Rhino/Alias).
• Proficient in 2D drafting ANSI/ASME; GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (injection molding, assembly, automation).
• Good communication and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/technical development of new product models (mechanical design, material selection, tooling, drawings, PLM).
• Design high-complexity models to manage risk with contingency plans.
• Lead multiple projects with schedule coordination in a fast-paced environment.
• Coach team members as SME and provide technical guidance.
• Identify quick improvement projects in the product development process.
• Lead cross-functional teams from sketch to mass production and continuous improvement.
