Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks highly motivated Optical Network Engineers for the ADC Network Scaling and Deployment team to drive expansion of AWS’s next-generation IP infrastructure.

You will lead planning, design, and execution of large-scale optical builds, develop automation to reduce manual operations, and ensure rapid provisioning across global data centers. On-call rotation and on-site presence for critical events are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional certifications (CND/GSEC/Network+/Security+)
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience with IP protocols
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting
• 1+ years of experience with optical protocols and optical system design

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver network optical scaling and build projects, including HLD/LLD reviews and BOM review
• Define and execute optical scaling strategy and implementation plans for AWS's ADC regions
• Implement automated solutions across AWS data centers and partner with Network/Infrastructure teams
• Maintain standards and ensure compliance with networking toolsets and policies
• Collaborate with escalation engineers and create documentation for deployments and recurring issues
