Job summary

Coherent in Fremont, CA, seeks a senior engineer to drive co-packaged optics packaging from concept to production on-site. You will craft PIC and EIC co-design flows, lead interconnect schematic and layout, and define packaging rules with OSATs for hybrid integration.

Collaboration spans laser packaging, Silicon Photonics, IC design and module teams. The role requires MS/PhD in engineering or science with 5+ years in the field, plus experience in laser design, silicon photonics, and NPI/PLM

Qualifications

MS/PhD in engineering or science with 5+ years in relevant field.
Experience with semiconductor laser design and silicon photonics.
Strong cross-functional leadership and NPI/PLM experience.
Familiarity with high-speed modulation in silicon photonics (200G/400G).

Responsibilities

Drive packaging activities from concept to production for Co-Packaged Optics and Optical Engine.
Develop PIC and EIC co-design flow, IO pad frame and 3D interposer floor plan.
Lead PIC and EIC interconnect schematic and monitor layout design.
Define packaging design rules with OSATs for hybrid integration.
Lead optical package development for manufacturability and reliability.
Collaborate with laser packaging, Silicon Photonics, IC design and module teams.
