Job summary

Corning Incorporated in North Carolina seeks a Sr. Cable Process Development Technician to join our manufacturing team.

You will develop, document, and implement new processes, products, and equipment for optical cable manufacturing and automation. Work closely with engineers and cross-functional project teams to design mechanical solutions, execute experiments, and deliver production-ready results that drive customer value.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years of manufacturing or equipment development experience, or 7+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience with process equipment such as extrusion, UV processing, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience using 3D CAD software for mechanical part detailing and documentation.
• Experience with equipment installation, setup, and process optimization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to design, detail, and document mechanical parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD).
• Set up, test, and debug electromechanical systems; optimize performance and resolve issues.
• Develop and execute experimental plans, perform tests, organize data, and document results.
• Coordinate procurement of mechanical equipment with internal and external stakeholders.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods to drive process improvements.
• Develop draft procedures and documentation for processes and equipment; support training.
