Job summary

Harborview Eye Institute in Seattle (UW Medicine Eye Institute) is seeking a Full-time Ophthalmic Technician 2 for day shifts. The role involves performing complex ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic eye examinations, administering topical medications and assisting with procedures in a collaborative ophthalmology setting on First Hill.

Candidates must complete an approved ophthalmic technician program and have at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist/and or perform complex clinical diagnostic eye examinations and procedures as delegated by the optometry, ophthalmology and acute eye care team.
• Complete ophthalmic imaging tests as ordered by physicians such as Amsler tests; tonometry; visual field tests (Goldmann).
• Perform complex clinical diagnostic eye imaging and procedures within scope of certification; patient intake activities, routine technical procedures, administer topical medications, assist with procedures.
• Demonstrate proactive, professional communication across and within the department to facilitate smooth workflow and positive representation.
