Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Operations Management, Leadership, Organizational Development, Improvement Science, Behavioral Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification with plan to Black Belt within 3 years.
  • 5+ years leadership and healthcare experience in performance improvement or related area.
  • Ability to apply scientific methods (PDCA, PDSA, Kaizen) across diverse teams.
  • Proficient in multiple computer software programs related to performance improvement.

Summary:

The Senior Operational Transformation Specialist leads strategic improvement initiatives across the organization by aligning operational excellence with systemwide goals and priorities. This role drives process improvement, team development, change facilitation, and the implementation of performance-driven initiatives through scientific methodologies and cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, the Specialist II through Operational Transformation deployment builds relationship with leaders at all levels of the region, including clinicians, front line care teams and other stakeholders to assess and enhance systems to produce optimal organizational process outcomes. This role supports the planning, execution and monitoring of processes and systems tied to the MaineHealth Strategic Plan Scorecard and overall Strategic Plan.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Operations Management, Leadership, Organizational Development, Improvement Science, Behavioral Science, Systems Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: PMP Certificate Preferred
  3. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience of leadership and healthcare experience in the performance improvement space, process and /or program leadership preferred. Note: 5 years of experience as a Specialist I within the department) will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree with the candidate's commitment to complete a Bachelors degree within 3 years of hiring.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, with a commitment to acquire a black belt certification within 3 years. Lean Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements: Skilled at applying the scientific method (PDCA, PDSA, Kaizen) as a foundational approach to problem solving. Ability to work with diverse teams representing various disciplines and all levels of staff. Excellent communication and active listening skills. Ability to negotiate collaborative efforts with other departments. Proficiency in multiple computer software programs related to performance improvement

The pay range for this position is $77,147.20to $104,353.60per year.

Compensation for part‑time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
