icon Mechanical in Nashville, TN, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the National Group's project management teams and drive safety, profitability, and operational excellence across a portfolio of mechanical construction projects.

You will mentor and develop project directors, ensure robust execution plans, manage chief risks, and build strong client relationships while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical construction project management and operations.
• Experience leading complex construction projects and overseeing multiple project teams or a portfolio of work.
• Working knowledge of project financial management, including forecasting, cost control, change management, contracts, cash flow, and risk management.
• Solid understanding of construction scheduling, procurement, engineering, VDC, fabrication, field operations, subcontractor management, commissioning, and closeout.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and developing project management professionals, including Project Managers and Project Directors.
• Track record of communicating clearly with executives, customers, project teams, and field leadership, including in difficult or adverse situations.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and engage directly with teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop project management teams within the National Group.
• Drive safety performance, profitable execution, and financial accountability across a portfolio.
• Ensure execution plans cover schedule, procurement, engineering, VDC, fabrication, subcontractors, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
• Maintain visibility into schedules, staffing, risks, and priorities across the portfolio.
• Serve as escalation point for major commercial, contractual, and customer issues.
