Job summary

GEODIS Senior Manager of Operations- Final Mile is responsible for coordinating distribution and warehousing in cross-dock operations. You will confer with customers and industry partners to promote expanded services and develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and staff.

You will also review costs to maintain profitability, participate in marketing efforts to ensure resources, and lead a team including a Team Assistant Manager of Operations and a Terminal Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram form instructions.

Responsibilities

Your role on the team:

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation


• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area


• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees


• Reviews costs and making changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions


• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees


• Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities


• Manages direct reports to include Team Assistant Manager of Operations and Terminal Manager


• Responsible for Recruitment and retention of contract carriers

What you need:

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual


• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
