thyssenkrupp Elevator is seeking an experienced Operations Manager- Service/Repair in Manhattan, NY. You will oversee all service and repair operations to ensure profitability and budget adherence, directing superintendents, safety programs, site visits, and cost control efforts.

The role combines field leadership with strategic cost management and customer coordination. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and strong elevator-industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years' management experience at a branch level or more.
• Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and handle abstract variables.

Responsibilities

• Direct and train superintendents and staff, guiding performance and enforcing policies.
• Administer safety program; conduct weekly safety audits and emphasize safety.
• Visit job sites; perform quality audits to ensure cost-effective repairs.
• Review route management and callbacks; adjust plans to improve profitability.
• Provide technical input to sales on bids and materials costs for repairs.
• Monitor the 30-day three-callbacks program and maintain cancellations under 3%.
• Collaborate with Branch Manager and Sales Managers to address customer needs.
• Maintain knowledge of elevator codes and stay updated with training and supplier products.
• Oversee parts program for contract service and repair to meet budgets.
