Job summary

Start Elevator in New York and New Jersey is seeking an Elevator Service Technician to support expanding operations across the region with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.

The Elevator Repair Manager will lead field operations, supervise crews, ensure NY/NJ codes and OSHA compliance, manage budgets, and communicate clearly with clients throughout repair and modernization projects. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Elevator Mechanic License required or strongly preferred (New York NYC or State License).
• New Jersey Elevator Mechanic License required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all elevator repair work, including major component replacements (motors, controllers, door equipment, ropes, etc.).
• Plan, schedule, and manage repair jobs from initiation through completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment for repair work.
• Review job specifications, scope, and technical requirements prior to execution.
