General Summary
This position will provide overall management of the operations associated with the manufacture and packaging in accordance with all Company policies and applicable laws. The Operations Manager will plan, organize, and direct these manufacturing activities to meet established plant objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs). This position will provide leadership and guidance to all direct reports, as well as other support areas as needed. The Operations Manager will lead all lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives for their functional area. This position is critical for establishing and maintaining the area as a center for operational excellence, including stressing the safety, quality, and customer service mentality vital to the organization.

Essential Functions

• Promote a safety culture and awareness within the area of responsibility. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures. Lead behavior-based safety initiatives.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to manufacturing teams. Focus on safety, quality, productivity (OEE), schedule attainment (OTIF), and cost control.
• Utilize lean and Six Sigma methodologies to meet daily production goals, improve quality, reduce labor hours, and maintain departmental budgets.
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain the department budget as a key leadership team member.
• Drive employee engagement, foster open communication, and support continuous improvement suggestions.
• Develop and revise manufacturing processes to ensure continuous improvement, including lean principles, G2G initiatives, and efficiency projects. Track KPI results.
• Maintain a skilled staff through effective hiring, training, development, motivation, and performance management. Lead and develop direct reports, set goals, and conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate training programs to enhance operator skills and ensure certification compliance.
• Handle administrative responsibilities, including personnel actions and operational reporting. Assist in policy development and consistency.
• Participate in supplier interactions, quality and delivery issues, and audits.
• Participate in hiring processes and develop high-potential employees for leadership roles.
• Identify opportunities for manufacturing cost reductions using current technologies.
• Ensure quality standards are met and perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

• Familiarity with quality management systems and GMPs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7-10 years of operations management experience, preferably in CPG industry.
• Lean or continuous improvement experience preferred.
