General Description:
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the department operations.Accountable for establishing and achieving performance objectives and targets in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory management.
Duties and responsibilities, and Authority
- Develops operating plans and budgets for multiple departments in accordance with the annual Sales plan by product category.
- Coordinates, directs, and evaluates the activities of production management and staff.
- Ensures adequate resources are provided for training and development in each department.
- Develops improvement plans for safety, quality, productivity, and cost and establishes KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for each area.
- Monitors departmental performance to established targets, and reports progress to executive management.
- Works to develop direct reports through coaching and mentoring; identifies and develops internal talent for next level opportunities.
- Champions cost reduction and quality improvement efforts while engaging management and staff in problem solving.
- Ensures accurate process, production, and inventory data are captured, monitored and maintained.
- Communicates and works closely with other departments throughout the facility to ensure support activities are adequately executed in subject areas.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required (i.e. Engineering or Science)commensurate work experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- 10 or more years of manufacturing management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning and development of KPIs.
- Financial acumen with direct experience in budget development and cost management.
- Ability to communicate effectively up and down the organization.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and a track record of identifying and developing talent within the organization.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Safety and Quality.
Other details:
- Receive hazardous waste training as introductory training within 6 months of initial employment and annually thereafter
- Function as the Alternate Emergency Coordinator
