Quantum Electric Group is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for our El Monte, CA office and field sites across Southern California. The role combines operations leadership with hands-on project oversight, requiring strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to manage complex PNLs.

You will oversee multiple electrical projects, coordinate with electricians, clients, and vendors, and ensure schedules and budgets stay on track in a fast-paced startup environment.

We are a commercial electrical contractor and an innovation-driven tech company. Our business is growing and we’re hiring a Senior Operations Manager to work with us on commercial electrical project delivery. In electrical contracting, we lead from the front. You will be on the ground, overseeing electrical projects of all sizes; from simple panel replacements to large scale commercial installations. You will start from the basics and learn from scratch. Our expectation is that you are confident and comfortable leading a team and running the PNL of a complex commercial project within six to eight months.

Electrical knowledge is not required to be considered for the role. We will provide you with plenty of training and support to ensure that you are well-positioned for success. However, successful candidates will have exceptional analytical, communications, and operations skills with demonstrated track records of being able to learn, adapt, and thrive in early-stage environments. The final interview(s) will require completing case studies in-person.

This role is in-person five days a week, split between our El Monte office and jobsites across Southern California.

What You’ll Do

To succeed as a Sr. Operations Manager in the contracting space, you will work closely with clients, electricians, and be in the field often. You will absolutely overlap into multiple functions at the company and “wear multiple hats". If this gives you pause, then we are not a good fit.

On any given day, you may find yourself working on any of the following:

Coordinate, manage, and oversee electrical projects

• From project kickoff to closeout, you oversee budgeting, scheduling, manpower, material planning, permitting, inspections, punchlists, and more.
• Be the main point of contact for clients and contractors.
• Be on the ground to collaborate with electricians to ensure everything is on schedule.
• Manage project calendar and phasing.
• Come in as early and stay as late as the project dictates.

Assist with estimating, planning, and scoping for electrical projects and bids

• Attend job walks and onsites to gather information and specs.
• Collaborate with estimating and help with sourcing for electrical bids.
• Work with operations team members to scope, plan, and execute efficient project schedules.
• Track and manage project PNLs from inventory budgeting to change order submissions.
• Track and manage contractor and vendor payments.
• Reconcile expenses, including material and equipment purchases, contractor payments, etc.

Lead a team of project associates and coordinators

• Manage and train a team of project associates and coordinators.
• Assign project tasks and responsibilities to ensure that everyone is set up for success.
• Take responsibility for team performance.

• Salary range is $110,000 - $140,000 annually to start, commensurate with experience.
