Job summary

Consertus is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead internal operations, support field staff, manage contracts, and serve as a trusted partner to public-sector clients. Based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, this senior role focuses on CM and QA/QC across a growing, integrated organization.

The role oversees contract management, field staff leadership, accounting oversight, HR coordination, and client relations, aligning with senior leadership to ensure smooth service delivery and staffing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction management, engineering, or public-sector infrastructure delivery.
• Direct experience with Caltrans, local agencies, or municipal public works.
• Strong understanding of CM roles: REs, CMs, inspectors, testers, and source inspectors.
• Demonstrated leadership managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in an integrated or multi-entity organization is a plus.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contract Management & Client Coordination — Serve as Task Order Manager for Caltrans, local agency, and city contracts; ensure compliance with contract requirements and deliverables with reporting from project managers; coordinate staffing plans, contract modifications, and negotiations; support integration with Consertus standards.
• Field Operations Leadership — Provide support to Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Inspectors, and QA/QC staff; oversee staffing, mobilization, and workload balance; assist field teams with issue resolution; ensure adherence to standards.
• Internal Operations, Accounting & HR — Work with accounting staff for invoicing, cost tracking, and project financials; support HR functions; implement operational systems and compliance protocols.
• Quality, Safety & Performance — Uphold QA/QC standards and safety practices; monitor project performance and KPIs.
