Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking an Operations Manager based in Dearborn, MI to lead day-to-day automotive supply chain operations and drive performance.

You will manage supervisors, drivers, and hourly staff, partner with HR and safety teams, and ensure customer satisfaction, safety, and quality. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in logistics leadership are preferred, with strong communication and problem-solving skills expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years in logistics/operations.
• Experience leading supervisors, drivers, or hourly staff.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations supporting automotive customer requirements and service expectations.
• Develop and manage supervisors, coordinators, drivers, and hourly employees.
• Maintain strong customer relationships as primary point of contact for customer reps.
• Monitor KPIs on safety, staffing, attendance, and service delivery.
• Coach, train, and manage performance; address issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with HR, Safety, Recruiting, and Operations to support staffing and development.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service, and performance.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and customer service.
