Job summary

Syniverse, a global connectivity leader, is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to deliver technical solutions for complex problems and to manage day-to-day production infrastructure. The role includes installation, operation, monitoring, and optimization of servers, databases, and external services.

You will analyze capacity, performance, and application health, escalating issues as needed while collaborating with teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, electronics or telecommunication or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years relevant professional experience in application support, technical customer support, problem management, relational databases, programming languages, software development.
• Certification on operating systems and databases (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues including leading problem management cases and status updates.
• Analyze requirements and prioritize requests; communicate with users to clarify requirements; create programs and processes to satisfy requests.
• Participate in design and reviews of changes to database design to meet functional and performance requirements.
• Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software.
• Create and report metrics for capacity planning and perform analysis.
• Monitor production performance and assist with benchmarking and optimization.
• Perform User Acceptance Tests in production and research related errors.
