Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Principal OpenShift Engineer to lead architecture, administration, automation, security, and operational excellence of enterprise OpenShift platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You will guide platform strategy and partner with security, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver a world-class container platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 10 years leading cloud/platform teams or equivalent experience
• Proven hands-on leadership in large-scale OpenShift/Kubernetes environments
• Experience with regulated, enterprise-grade deployments and security controls

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate enterprise OpenShift clusters across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
• Lead platform strategy, governance, and developer enablement for container platforms.
• Mentor teams, drive incident response and SRE best practices.
• Develop IaC pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Collaborate with security, architects, and stakeholders to meet compliance requirements.
