First Citizens Bank is seeking a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to lead CI/CD implementations, automate infrastructure, and enhance system reliability across cloud environments. The role emphasizes Security as Code and cross-functional collaboration with Dev, QA, and security teams.

The position supports remote work and requires extensive experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Terraform, and automation in large-scale enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of software dev/maintenance, or High School + 8 years of software dev/maintenance.
• Advanced experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related fields.
• 6+ years architecting, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• 5+ years implementing DevSecOps practices, security controls, and automated compliance checks in CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience coding in Python, Bash, and other scripting languages.
• Experience with modern tech stacks and building deployments for Java/.NET/iOS/Android.
• Knowledge of AWS & Azure; cloud infrastructure and IaC best practices.
• Hands-on Linux (RHEL), Ansible playbooks, monitoring tools, patching, migrations, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience deploying across OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, VMs, and cloud environments.
• Ability to collaborate with AppSec, engineering, QA, and infrastructure teams to embed security and automation throughout SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Duties & Responsibilities: Build, implement, and maintain CICD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration on cloud platforms using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Create and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Monitor, log, and alert on system performance; perform root-cause analysis of production issues.
• Apply Security as Code practices to pipelines and infrastructure across the SDLC.
• Collaborate with Dev, QA, App Security, Governance and IT teams to enhance delivery processes.
• Manage containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Contribute to system enhancements by estimating time, designing modules, and validating changes.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support; document technical designs and end-user procedures.
