Job summary

US Oncology Network seeks a Scheduler to join Texas Oncology in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role schedules patient appointments and tests, answers calls, and liaises between patients and medical staff to ensure timely care. It may include outside or surgical scheduling and coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations.

The position offers different levels (Level 1, Level 2, Sr) based on experience and a competitive benefits package with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years' experience preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; directs calls to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new, referred and returning patients in the EMR per guidelines.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in chart/EMR.
• Collects co-pays and other payments at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates and arranges for financial counseling as needed.
