Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a strategic, senior physician-scientist to own late-stage oncology development programs end-to-end, from clinical strategy through regulatory submission. You will lead cross-functional teams and engage Health Authorities with confidence.

The role centers on late-stage (Phase 2/3) program leadership, with responsibilities to set direction, mentor juniors, and drive registration-enabling activities within a big biotech / big pharma environment in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• MD required as core credential for the role (physician-scientist).
• Minimum 5+ years in industry clinical R&D within pharma/biotech.
• Experience leading or supporting Phase 1–3 studies, with emphasis on late-stage programs.

Responsibilities

• Own a Clinical Development Plan as the clinical lead for a program.
• Lead or support studies across the full Phase 1–3 continuum, focused on late-stage programs.
• Prepare for and present to Health Authorities (FDA/EMA).
• Coordinate resources and provide strategic direction across a program, including mentoring junior staff.
• Interpret translational/biomarker data to support development decisions.
• Mentor junior Medical Directors and help shape team culture.
