Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a strategic, senior-level physician-scientist to own late-stage oncology development programs end-to-end, from clinical strategy through regulatory submission. The role requires leadership across global, matrixed teams and direct engagement with Health Authorities.

You will lead Clinical Development Plans, sponsor Phase 2/3 studies, and mentor junior colleagues to shape an ambitious, registration-enabling program in a big biotech/big pharma context.

Qualifications

• MD required.
• Strong oncology expertise.
• Minimum 5 years' industry clinical R&D experience.
• Experience leading or supporting studies across Phase 1-3.
• Demonstrated contribution to registration-enabling activities and Health Authority interactions.

Responsibilities

• Own a Clinical Development Plan (CDP) as the responsible clinical lead for a program - not just execute studies.
• Lead or support studies across the full Phase 1-3 development continuum, with a focus on late-stage programs.
• Prepare for and present to Health Authorities (FDA/EMA).
• Coordinate resources and provide strategic direction across a program, including managing junior team members.
• Interpret and apply translational/biomarker data to development decisions.
• Mentor junior Medical Directors and help shape team culture.
