Texas Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy/Admixture Technician to support the New Braunfels location. The role involves compounding medications, maintaining compliance, and assisting with inventory under supervision of a pharmacist or physician.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; entry level to 3 years in a pharmacy.
• IV certification preferred; CP Tech certification or State Board requirements recommended.
• Oncology background or IV prep experience preferred; ASCP or similar program recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check all orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered by a physician maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert between metric and apothecary units.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping per guidelines and regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing per guidelines and law.
• Clean hoods daily and monitor drugs for outdates; perform quality assurance tasks.
• Maintain temperature and protocol logs; manage inventory documentation.
• Provide support across medication use continuum including labeling and basic data entry.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of admixture area per state rules and USP compliance.
