Job summary

SHIMIZU NORTH AMERICA LLC is seeking an experienced Estimator for a site-based project in Lordstown, OH. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of industrial construction estimation experience and will manage the bid from initial estimate through subcontract formation.

You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors, read drawings, develop detailed cost estimates, and present a complete package that supports timely award decisions on an evolving industrial manufacturing project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or another technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial construction or manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in estimation.
• Proven track record of design bid, Design/Bid/Build estimating success.
• Strong knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Must be proficient at reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the project from the first estimate through subcontracts being formalized.
• Request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to support bids or budgets.
• Use estimating systems to build accurate budgets or bids.
• Perform conceptual estimates from limited drawings and specs.
• Provide innovative cost solutions and reliable cost predictions across scopes.
• Ensure subcontractors understand and commit to the project schedule.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately.
• Coordinate estimates with electrical, mechanical and plumbing disciplines.
• Assemble a complete, presentation-ready estimate package.
• Work with departments to submit bid packages per bidding procedures.
