Job summary

Shimizu North America seeks an Estimator for a site-based project in Lordstown, OH with 5–10 years of industrial construction experience. The role involves coordinating estimates, subcontractor quotes, and budget development for an evolving industrial manufacturing scope.

You will read drawings, develop detailed cost packages, and collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and schedules are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or another technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial construction or manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in estimation.
• Proven track record of design bid, Design/Bid/Build estimating success.
• Strong knowledge of paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
• Must be proficient at reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the project from the first estimate through subcontracts.
• Request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to bid or budget.
• Use estimating systems to build accurate budgets or bids.
• Perform conceptual estimates based on limited drawings and specs.
• Provide innovative cost solutions for complex issues as they arise.
