Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Resident Project Representative to join our Building Engineering Services team. You will provide on-site construction observation, documentation, quality oversight, and coordination to ensure projects follow contract documents and standards.

You will read drawings, track progress, review materials, and supervise field staff while interfacing with contractors, clients, and engineers. This role requires travel to client sites and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and effectively coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Must be computer literate, with experience in Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture.
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment is not available now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
• Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's activities, work performed, and materials used
• Review construction materials for contract compliance
• Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance
• Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
• Observe installation and acceptance testing of equipment and systems
• Identify nonconforming work and develop punch lists
• Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
• Assist with project audit/closeout
• Work under supervision of a Design Project Manager
• Supervise junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors
