Snowflake is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - OLTP to lead teams building core transactional database technology and cloud infrastructure at scale. You define architecture, drive roadmaps, grow the org, and guide design through production.

Qualifications

10+ years experience in database internals, OLTP databases, or distributed storage systems.
8+ years leading engineering teams with multiple teams and managers.
Deep experience with transactions, concurrency, consistency, replication, recovery, storage, and performance.
Experience with AI-assisted/agentic software development across the lifecycle.
Experience operating mission-critical systems with high availability and observability.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across organizations.
Hands-on technical ability to navigate complex codebases and architecture.
Experience with OLTP internals or Postgres internals.
Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP with highly available services.

Responsibilities

Set technical and execution strategy for key OLTP areas, translating goals into architecture and roadmaps.
Lead and grow multiple engineering teams, developing managers and senior leaders.
Drive AI and agentic development practices to improve velocity, quality, and productivity.
Make architecture decisions in transactions, concurrency, storage, replication, and recovery.
Ensure reliability and operational readiness of mission-critical DB services with automation and observability.
Trade off decisions on consistency, latency, throughput, availability, and cost.
Lead major initiatives from design to production operation.
Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional leaders to align priorities.
Recruit engineers and leaders and develop teams into larger roles.
