Job summary

Snowflake in Menlo Park is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the ManagedDB Team to architect and scale backend database systems across multi‑cloud environments, delivering high‑throughput, low‑latency services that power the Snowflake platform.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and SRE to ensure availability and security while driving cross‑team roadmaps and production excellence.

Qualifications

• US citizen or permanent resident status required
• 7–12 years of backend distributed systems experience
• Experience with Go, Java, C++, or Rust in production
• Cloud infrastructure with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• IaC and automation with Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Strong leadership and cross‑team collaboration

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale database products for internal use
• Drive multi‑cloud strategy across AWS, Azure and GCP
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers
• Ensure high availability, security, and durability
• Lead production incidents and blameless post‑mortems
• Partner with Security, Infra, and SRE for scalable capabilities
