Job summary

Grifols Diagnostic Solutions in San Diego seeks a Scientist skilled in oligonucleotide chemistry to provide synthesis, purification, and analytical support for R&D projects. The role may lead subprojects, collaborate across teams, and present findings at scientific venues.

The candidate should have extensive lab experience in or related to oligonucleotide work, be able to communicate effectively, and contribute to core team projects within a dynamic R&D environment in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
• MS in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
• PhD in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
• 7-9 years post-baccalaureate laboratory experience; industrial experience preferred.
• PhD with post-doctoral or 4-6 years industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated oligonucleotide synthesis, deprotection and purification via standard phosphonamidite chemistry and chromatographic purification techniques.
• Conduct oligonucleotide analysis using LCMS, MALDI, UV/VIS, and HPLC/UPLC.
• Lead and execute complex experiments with design, analysis and data interpretation; deliverables.
• Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to share results and input.
• Maintain clearly written experimental records in written and electronic formats.
• Familiar with standard software tools used for instrument control, data analysis and reporting results.
