Job summary

Eurofins Genomics Americas in Louisville, KY seeks an Organic Chemist specializing in oligonucleotide synthesis to support process development and manufacturing. You will design, optimize, and scale chemical processes for high-throughput oligo production, with emphasis on purification and yield.

The role requires 5+ years in chemical synthesis, hands-on oligo synthesis, and familiarity with automated DNA/RNA synthesizers in a GMP setting. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in Organic Chemistry or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial chemical synthesis experience.
• Hands-on oligonucleotide synthesis and purification experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize synthesis processes for nucleotides and oligos.
• Scale-up processes from R&D to manufacturing.
• Develop and improve oligonucleotide purification methods (HPLC, ion-exchange).
• Troubleshoot synthesis/purification to boost yield and purity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QC, and engineering for tech transfer.
• Evaluate new chemistries and technologies for oligo production.
• Prepare SOPs, batch records, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and mentor lab staff.
