Job summary

Eurofins Genomics Americas is seeking a highly skilled Organic Chemist to lead synthesis and purification of nucleotides and oligonucleotides, scaling processes from R&D to manufacturing for high-throughput production.

You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, developing new chemistries and technologies while ensuring GMP compliance and mentoring lab technicians in Louisville, KY.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Organic Chemistry or related field required.
• 5+ years of industrial chemical synthesis experience.
• Hands-on oligonucleotide synthesis and purification experience.
• Experience in GMP or regulated environments preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical synthesis processes for nucleotides and oligonucleotides.
• Scale-up from R&D to manufacturing and transfer to production.
• Develop and improve oligonucleotide purification (HPLC, ion-exchange, desalting).
• Troubleshoot synthesis and purification to improve yield and purity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QC, and engineering for process transfer.
• Evaluate new chemistries and technologies for better performance.
• Author SOPs, batch records, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory standards.
• Mentor lab technicians and support cross-functional teams.
