Job summary

LyondellBasell in Channelview, TX, is seeking an experienced Olefins Process Engineer to support two Olefins plants, drive performance improvements and lead capital projects.

The role requires a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years in petrochem, with strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Aspen Process Simulation experience is preferred; you will mentor engineers and help ensure safety and environmental compliance through sound economic analysis.

Qualifications

• B.S degree in Chemical Engineering
• 10+ years petrochemical experience
• Knowledge of Olefins process
• Experience with world-scale process unit design/operations
• Process design packages & economic justification
• Leadership, ethics, teamwork & communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting & problem-solving
• Aspen Process simulation (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing processes and develop initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve product quality and reduce risk.
• Support capital projects including front end loading scope development, economic justification and startup.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in application of Operational Excellence standards.
• Communicate KPI impacts to stakeholders and drive optimization across units.
• Provide Process Engineering support for plant startups/shutdowns and asset strategy enhancements.
• Collaborate with Reliability Engineers and Production Engineers to improve unit performance.
• Engage with corporate Olefins Process Engineering network to identify best practices.
