Job summary

MITRE's Cyber Threat Intelligence department is seeking experienced offensive security engineers to emulate adversaries and advance red-teaming capabilities. You will contribute to ATT&CK evaluations, Caldera development, and sponsor-focused CTI initiatives.

The role requires 4 days a week on-site, with work advancing government and industry security. Strong programming, research, and communication skills are essential for success in this high-impact team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's; or a PhD with relevant experience who can contribute immediately.
• Experience creating and using offensive security tools, malware implants, and other red team capabilities in one or more programming languages.
• Demonstrated ability to independently deliver adversary emulation capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting technical analysis.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance; U.S. Citizen required for clearance.
• This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Use your skills as an offensive security engineer to build and emulate cutting-edge capabilities of real-world threats.
• Use AI to advance cyber operations, purple teaming, and threat intelligence.
• Build products, perform R&D, and help sponsors solve CTI problems.
• Propose and lead research to improve cyber operations.
• Participate in or lead offensive security engagements to show blue teams how to respond to real-world adversaries.
• Advance ATT&CK, Caldera, and MITRE efforts.
