Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a Wheels & Tires Engineer to design, develop, and validate wheel and tire systems for U.S. SUVs, pickups, and off-road vehicles.

You will use CATIA to model wheels, interfaces, and TPMS sensors, ensuring strength, weight, and cost targets are met. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to achieve durability, regulatory compliance, and proper integration with braking and suspension systems, while supporting test plans and design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Experience in chassis and suspension design, wheel and tire systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software and 2D/3D drawings.
• Familiarity with FMVSS/SAE standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop wheel and tire systems end-to-end from concept through production.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings of wheels and TPMS interfaces using CAD tools.
• Support validation plans for durability, ride, and handling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging, caliper clearance, and fender clearance.
