Job summary

ABB is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to technology, software, product, and solution development in the Panelboards chapter, primarily supporting the OEM Agile Team in Bloomfield, CT. You will lead stages from ideation through launch, ensuring targets are met and risks managed, while aligning with customer needs and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on mechanical design using PTC Creo/Windchill, strong problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering required with 5+ years in R&D or related field.
• Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drawing using PTC Creo or similar tools.
• Strong communication in English and ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through Stage-Gate development to meet quality, time, scope, and cost targets.
• Ensure designs meet customer needs and regulatory and safety requirements.
• Create models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs using PTC Creo/Windchill; perform validation tests.
• Maintain expertise by integrating latest developments and improve chapter capabilities.
• Collaborate in a dynamic agile environment to deliver value to internal and external customers.
