Job summary

City of Boca Raton is seeking an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard to safeguard beachgoers, perform rescues, and enforce safety rules at coastal access areas. You will respond to emergencies, monitor conditions, and contribute to public safety and beach experience.

Ideal candidates have high school diploma, CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certifications, and the ability to work under supervision while also acting quickly in life-threatening situations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ocean rescue laws, ordinances and safety procedures.
• Strong EMS/CPR skills and ability to provide first aid.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with the public and city staff.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Observe beach/ocean conditions from designated towers and on foot.
• Signal watercraft and beach patrons to avoid unsafe areas.
• Respond to emergencies with self-directed, rapid action.
• Perform patrolling and rescues; carry rescue equipment and first aid supplies.
• Assist with programs, classes, and rescue drills as needed.
