Job summary

HappyGlobal Service is seeking an experienced Senior Ocean Import/Export Operations Specialist to lead ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery, coordinating with carriers, overseas teams, brokers, and warehouses in support of U.S. service providers.

You will review documentation, manage ISF and customs clearance, prepare customer quotations, and monitor charges and risk exposure while maintaining strong client relationships and driving profitability.

Qualifications

• Three-plus years in ocean freight operations for a U.S.-based forwarder or NVOCC preferred.
• Experience handling both imports and exports.
• Ability to independently manage complete shipment cycles with awareness of risks.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. ocean freight docs and procedures.
• Experience coordinating with carriers, ports, brokers, warehouses, and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import/export shipments from booking to delivery.
• Coordinate with carriers, overseas teams, brokers, trucking, warehouses, and CFS facilities.
• Review documentation, ISF, customs clearance, exams, and release.
• Handle export bookings, AES/ITN filings, B/L review, and release.
• Proactively update shipment status and ensure timely handoffs between teams.
• Prepare customer quotations covering freight and charges.
• Explain rate components, free time, and accessorial charges.
• Monitor free days, demurrage, detention, and per diem exposure.
• Address delays, billing disputes, and operational issues.
• Collaborate with sales and product teams to grow accounts.
