Job summary

NNR USA seeks a seasoned Head of Ocean Freight to implement and coordinate an aggressive ocean freight strategy across the USA network, driving tonnage, revenue, and profitability for import/export flows. You will oversee carrier management, capacity planning, and supplier partnerships while ensuring compliance with corporate standards.

The role requires leadership of global accounts, strategic pricing, and collaboration with branches to train staff and improve service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in ocean freight forwarding with global exposure.
• Proven success managing large, complex global accounts and driving revenue growth.
• Senior management experience in training, mentoring and building teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, project management and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications, CRM platforms and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Generate and expand new sales; maintain existing customers across USA offices and partners.
• Lead targeted major/global accounts and train account executives for growth.
• Collaborate with branch managers to develop staff skills in ocean operations.
• Develop and manage an effective ocean strategy for LCL, FCL, and consolidations.
• Negotiate FCL and LCL rates with key steamship lines; ensure FMC filings are accurate.
• Support corporate initiatives and improve ocean service levels across the network.
